Day 1: Individual Arrival to Cologne

Your river cruise embarks from the historic cathedral city of Cologne. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a welcome drink aboard the SENA at 3:00 p.m. For your convenience, we are offering a bus shuttle service every half hour from Cologne's main train station to the dock, starting at 2:30 p.m.
At 4:00 p.m., the SENA sets sail, gliding downriver towards Amsterdam. If the weather permits, you can enjoy the departure from Cologne on the sun deck, where you'll be treated to panoramic views of the city's famous cathedral, the towering spires of its Romanesque churches, and the modern harbor district. Afterwards, gather for dinner onboard, marking the beginning of your adventure on the river. It's the perfect way to unwind and settle in for your first night aboard the ship.

Day 2: Canals, Gables and Van Gogh | Approx. 11 miles / 18 km
While the ship glides gently over the Waal and Lek rivers into the Maas to Holland, you will learn exciting facts about the region during an informative morning lecture. Amsterdam offers a unique attraction with its canals. Over 80 kilometers of waterways and 1000 bridges form the canal belt with the picturesque Amsterdam gabled houses and houseboats. “Lecker Fietsen” on “New Land” in Amsterdam! After lunch, the famous cycling city welcomes you. Explore the city like a local on a bike tour along the canals that have served as transportation routes for centuries. Ride the city's most popular means of transportation and get to know Amsterdam's past and present through fascinating stories. You'll feel like a real Amsterdammer in no time. In the late afternoon you will have free time to stroll through Amsterdam's old town streets. Dinner and 2nd overnight stay on board.

Day 3: Waterland and Ijsselmeer | Approx. 31 miles / 50 km
Today we leave the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam behind us. With a view of the Amsterdam Tower and the Eye Film Museum, you take the ferry across the Amstel. On your e-bike, you will then cross Amsterdam's Old Holland district and then a nature park on the way to Broek in Waterland. Past canals, bridges and historic farms. This flat landscape offers views of moments that feel out of time as you come across sprawling fields and traditional Dutch farmers going about their daily lives. Cycle through the old villages of Broek, where time seems to have stood still. The land is protected by miles of dikes and pumping stations, allowing picturesque villages to flourish and making the region a hotspot for outdoor activities on land and water. Dinner and 3rd overnight stay on board.

Day 4: Old & New Rotterdam & Delft | Approx. 38 miles / 60 km
Experience the home of Dutch democracy on this day. Rotterdam is the most important transshipment point in Europe and the third largest port in the world. However, since the port was moved out of the city to the coast, the cityscape has changed. Star architects have redesigned the vacated port areas. Modern architecture with extraordinary high-rise buildings have earned the city the nickname “Maashatten”. The landmark is the huge Erasmus Bridge, which has spanned the Meuse since 1996 and is also known as the “Swan” by the locals. The market hall in the city center has also been worth seeing since 2014. Archaeologists made some interesting discoveries during the construction work. In addition to weapons, tools, jewelry and kitchen utensils, the remains of a very old farm were also discovered. Some of the finds can be viewed in the Rotterdam Market Hall. On the cycle tour from Rotterdam to the North Sea coast, you will cross Delft with its many small canals by e-bike, which you will experience on a canal cruise. Dinner and 4th overnight stay on board.

Day 5: Gothic in Mechelen, Lier on the Nete & windmills | Approx. 34 miles / 56 km
In the morning, walk with your guide from the jetty on the Scheldt through the old town of Antwerp to the Art Nouveau train station in the diamond city. You will soon reach pretty Mechelen in comfort on the regional train. Mechelen's landmark is the mighty tower of the Gothic Cathedral of St. Romuald. Although it was never completed, it reaches an impressive height of 98 meters. Mechelen is also still famous for its carillon school. You cycle almost completely flat along the small river Nete to Lier, where you can marvel at the astronomical clock and the beguinage. On your cycle tour on low-traffic roads through the idyll of Flanders, you will reach the windmill of Oelegem before arriving back at your floating hotel in Antwerp in the late afternoon. Dinner and 5th overnight stay on board.

Day 6: Flemish Masters and Scheldt tunnel in Antwerp | Approx. 12 miles / 20 km
There is a lot of culture on the program today, because you will see and experience one of the most important cities in Flanders (city tour). Today, Antwerp is mainly known for diamonds. But hardly anyone knows that the largest church in the country is located here and the historic old town of Antwerp, around the church, is unique. In the 16th century, during the 'Golden Age', Antwerp was the undisputed economic metropolis of Northern Europe. The city was rich and the tower of the Cathedral of Our Lady grew taller and taller with the wealth. The market square grew in splendor, the town hall and the elaborately decorated gables of the guild houses still bear witness to this today. Back then, the city was an art center. Names such as Rubens, van Dyck, Snyders and Jordaens are inextricably linked with the city. After the tour, you will experience a short cycle tour through historic Scheldt tunnels downstream along the banks of the Scheldt to the moated castle of Bazel. The Sint-Annatunnel with its authentic wooden escalators is a real historical gem. And you also have a great view of the Antwerp skyline from the other side of the Scheldt. In the late afternoon, we say see you soon in Belgium and the SENA starts its return journey downriver towards Holland and Germany. 6th overnight stay and a multi-course specialty dinner at the SENA Grill.

Day 7: River Cruise Day | No Biking
While the ship glides leisurely along and sails back towards Cologne via the Meuse, you also have the opportunity to make extensive use of the spa area with sauna and various treatments. In the afternoon, your tour guide awaits you for an exciting lecture in the ship's lounge. Round off the last evening in a relaxed atmosphere. 7th overnight stay on board.

Day 8: Departure & Art in the Wallraf - Richartz Museum in Cologne
Your ship reaches the port of Cologne early in the morning. After breakfast, visit the collection of Flemish masters in the Wallraf-Richartz Museum with works by Rubens and van Dyck. The adjoining Fondation Corboud displays the most extensive collection of French and international Impressionist and late Impressionist painting in Germany. The more than 170 paintings, which were transferred to the city of Cologne in March 2001 as a “perpetual loan” and became part of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum's collection, include works by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir as well as often overlooked companions of the better-known painters. The tour ends at 13:00 at Cologne main station. There you will also collect your luggage and start your individual journey home.
